KTM 690 SMC R power delivery. First of all happy new year! I've recently purchased a new 2022 690 SMC R (Euro 5) and have put about 2500km on the odometer. The bike is bone stock at the moment. Coming from bigger bikes (KTM 1290 SDGT, Ducati xDiavel S), I sometimes find the power delivery a bit underwhelming, despite the bike being a lot of fun
The DRZ needs another 20 hp, another gal of gas capacity and a 6th gear. on the other hand, its less than half the cost of a 690. There is no comparison. I’ve owned a DRZ and now a 690 enduro. There is 30 hp difference. Off road, both fun. On road, ones a joy, the other a way to get there.
