Nov 28, 2017. #1. 300tdi suddenly hard to start it seems as if it starts on 2 cylinders then 3 then 4 much the same as if it has air in the system or fuel is syphoning back . is there a one way valve in the system that suddenly fails . nothing has been apart or changed any ideas.

Nov 15, 2011. #9. its common for lift pumps to fail often as yours has where the lever mechanism breaks ,often failure isnt noticed if system is very good and as injection pump will suck it through .the two one way valves often get **** sticking them open. I think the 300Tdi would be pretty nice in a 90, or even a two door 110 with a soft top. But the five door 110 is just that much heavier, and probably right on the edge of adequate in the modern world. Maybe in the early '90s it was OK in the UK. I'm open to the LS options, but I have what I have.
